Assignment 4 - Justin Zhu
Growing up between my parent's opposing views was challenging in how I've formed my priorities. My dad's concerns have always been my performance on tests, my grades, and what level of college I could attend to. My mom on the other hand, is very religious and wants me to pursue a career in the church. While the too don't argue over it with each other, both often come to me to discuss what they want for my future. This has been the case for most of my childhood, but they've started picking it up once I started high school. I find it extremely stressful and recently I've started questioning what I want for myself. I've started to wonder if the importance my parents place on my education and religion are as important as they say they are, and I've come to the conclusion that while both are important, I have the power to make my own decisions in both categories. I don't have to follow the path that both my parents have set out for me and instead pursue a path that allows me to both successful and happy.
