The stereotypical depiction of Thanksgiving that is shown everywhere on ads and merchandise - massive amounts of food, family coming together to celebrate, politics, and football - is exactly what my thanksgiving looks like. Thanksgiving is easily one of my top two favorite holidays because I get to see relatives who I don’t normally see, there's a lot of good food, and I get to watch football for hours. This last Thanksgiving was very memorable because it was the first one that I had since my mom, whom I am very close to, moved to Indiana. I got to visit her for the first time in about a month, so it was very enjoyable. This Thanksgiving I also saw my step-brother for first time in around five or six years which made it even more memorable. I also met one of my unlces for the first time. Every Thanksgiving my mom makes sweet potato casserole, which is definitely what I look forward to eating the most and this year it did not disappoint.
