Assignment 9 - Delaney Staley - War

I believe that the only time when it is appropriate to go to war is when another country explicitly enacts violence upon your country. I do not think going to war just for territory or other things is appropriate or just. I never believe that going to war is morally right but it is something that has to be done-- I just see it as the last thing that countries should resort to. I believe countries should only go to war when another country is acting violently towards them and that is the only way that it can be justified. I think that if they are not acting in a violent manner, then the best alternative is to talk through issues. I believe that many issues between countries are ones that can be discussed peacefully and that war should only be used as the last option available. Despite this, I do not think that countries will only resort to peaceful discussions to solve their problems and I believe countries will still go to war to try and solve disputes.
