Assignment 12 - Elizabeth Moore - Just so you know...

I’m your classic Kentucky camp-girl. I wear Chacos in 30-degree weather, I spend hours in my hammock, I love to paint, I own like 10 flannel shirts, I love campfire songs a little too much, and it has been my dream since I was 8 to be on staff at Aldersgate Church camp the year after I graduate from High School. But I also work hard at school and I’m involved in about 15 different extracurricular activities at any given time. I’m a little type-A sometimes or “extra”, as my parents would say, and I’ve been known to go “supersonic” – another term coined by my parents – when I’m stressed, but I love spontaneity and I think that things are more fun when plans go awry. You should also know that I consider myself an 80-year-old in a 15-year-old’s body; I knit frequently (and actually have a yarn collection), drink tea nightly, built and decorated with miniature Victorian-era furniture a 3-story Colonial dollhouse, and frequently use Appalachian idiomatic expressions I picked up from my dad. I also don’t feel like I understand teenage culture. I am obsessed with the Christmas season and Christmas cheer, but hate the commercialism that now surrounds the holiday. If it were up to me, only handmade gifts would be allowed on Christmas morning because they’re more special and really show that you care. And that’s a wrap! (see what I did there) :)
