Assignment 13 - Cat Lucier - don't make me pay for someone else's mistakes
You may have noticed how Canada and European countries have very high taxes and insurance rates. They simply have the wrong idea. Low insurance rates are better. It's not my fault lots of Americans have many health problems. It's their own fault for eating badly and becoming obese and having heart disease and diabetes, and they should have to lie in the bed they made. I shouldn't have to pay extra money to take care of them. I'm healthy and I don't have health problems, so I shouldn't have to pay for doctors and treatments that I'm not using or anything. Similarly, if you don't make enough money to survive in our country, that's your own fault too. You should have tried harder in school and focused on becoming successful, not doing drugs. I shouldn't have to pay higher taxes for welfare so you can lie around all day not contributing to society. The audacity of some people to demand these sorts of things is incredible. Socialism is completely unfair to those who work hard for their living and stay healthy. They shouldn't have to pay for others who they have no connection to. As you make your bed, so you must lie in it. Don't pull me into your bed too. I have my own, built on hard work and conscious decisions for good.
